Yerbol Karashukeev discussed the investment potential of the Zhambyl region with the agriculture ministers of the member states of the Turkic Council

During the international agricultural forum-exhibition "Kazagro Zhambyl-2024," the akim of the Zhambyl region, Yerbol Karashukeev, met with agriculture ministers from member states of the Turkic Council.

During the meeting with Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, the Secretary-General of the Turkic Council, the Akim of the Zhambyl region noted that agriculture is a key sector for the region, with active development in animal husbandry and crop production. He also mentioned that the region is currently paying great attention to the development of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, as well as studying the prospects for the use of groundwater in agriculture. Meeting participants discussed cooperation prospects and attracting investments to the region for the implementation of joint projects.

During the meeting with Medjnun Mamedov, the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Yerbol Karashukeev discussed the possibilities of exchanging experience in the use of water-saving technologies in agriculture. The akim emphasized that the Zhambyl region has long-standing relations with Azerbaijan. For example, the trade turnover between our region and Azerbaijan amounted to nearly 3 million dollars last year.

Cooperation prospects in various directions were also discussed with the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov. The trade turnover between the Zhambyl region and Uzbekistan amounted to almost 22 million dollars last year.

In turn, Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov thanked Yerbol Karashukeev for the warm reception and noted the high level of organization of such a large-scale event, which became an excellent platform for discussing agricultural issues among all member countries of the Turkic Council.

During the meeting with Yerbol Karashukeev, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, Gizligider Ebubekir, emphasized the great potential of the Zhambyl region in the agricultural sector. He stated that Turkey attaches great importance to economic relations with Kazakhstan as one of its most strategically important partners, and they are ready to consider all mechanisms of mutual assistance.

"We see that the Zhambyl region has tremendous potential in the development of agriculture and the implementation of the most modern agricultural technologies. Therefore, we will consider directing more of our investors to your region," said G. Yebubekir.

Yerbol Karashukeev also highlighted the close partnership between the Zhambyl region and Turkish investors. The akim emphasized that our region is always open to cooperation in various fields, especially in agriculture.

"The trade turnover of the Zhambyl region with Turkey last year amounted to 18.8 million dollars. This indicates that we are interested in further development and implementation of joint projects on mutually beneficial terms," said the governor.

Yerbol Karashukeev thanked the guest, noting that by combining the efforts, knowledge, and experience of both sides, truly significant results can be achieved.
